Services accumulate on a server faster than anyone keeps track of. nuDefend shows you what is reachable right now, what genuinely needs attention, and what changed since the last check.
The exposures that are easy to miss
You hardened the server the day you built it. Since then you have shipped releases, added containers and installed tools. A container can publish a port that was never meant to be reachable, a database can move off localhost, and a service you installed once can still be sitting there waiting for connections. The server keeps working normally — which is exactly why nobody notices anything changed.

What matters comes first
SSH being open may be entirely expected. An unauthenticated database on a public port is not. nuDefend surfaces the exception, so you are not hunting for the problem inside a long list of normal.
Told when exposure changes
One of the easiest risks to miss is a service that was internal and quietly became reachable. nuDefend catches that change and tells you while it is happening — not after someone else found it.
And what nuDefend does not claim to do
It is not a vulnerability scanner and does not present itself as one. It will not declare a service secure or insecure, and it does not change firewall rules on its own. It shows what it finds, explains why it is relevant, and leaves the decision to you.
- It cannot see your cloud provider's firewall rules, and says so explicitly in every report.
- It reports the services it recognises. A service it did not recognise is not necessarily a service that is not running.
- When something cannot be established with certainty, it is shown as unknown — rather than giving you a false sense of security.
